I mustache you a question…Will you be my Valentine?

It’s not too late to whip up a quick and easy Valentine’s Day shirt for your little sweetheart.  You just need a few supplies and no more than 30 minutes to make this happen.  So let’s get right to it!

Supplies:

  • White shirt
  •  fabric (I used fleece)
  • Pellon backing (*Optional)  *When using fabrics such as fleece, it certainly makes it easier to sew to the shirt if you first iron on some Pellon backing.  I skipped this step this time and it turned out fine.  It may save a beginner sewer some frustration though, as this type of fabric likes to move and stretch when sewing.  Click HERE to see a tutorial on how to use Pellon with fleece.
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • The free pattern (click HERE) and then print.  *Note you will need Adobe Reader to view and print the free pattern file.  It can be downloaded for free at adobe.com.

Get started!

After printing your pattern and cutting it out, pin the heart to the shirt first and sew on.  Repeat this step with the mustache.  For a nice finished look, I used a small zig zag stitch moving around each piece twice.  Trim off any hanging threads and enjoy your work!  You just made your Valentine an adorably, cute shirt.

Thank you for visiting my quick and easy shirt tutorial.  I would love to see what you’ve come up with.  =)
