Welcome to Junky Monday Roundup. Here is where I dish on the best junky finds after a trip to my favorite shopping place. The curb. One man’s trash is this chic’s treasure and I’m bringing it to you every week. Stick around until Transformation Tuesday to see how I glam the stuff up.
Today I junk shopped in the rain. Looking like a hobo. Truly. I usually try to at least get dressed in one of my junky graphic tees so if encountered, people will not think I am a homeless woman digging through their trash, but today I straight up rocked the curb in my baggy flannel jammie pants that I have had for years, tucked down in my sweet little rain boots. Classy.
Due to our 2015 Purge and the fact that we filled up an entire storage unit with mostly my junk, I have been careful not to go nuts littering the garage and driveway again. In order to remain calm, I haven’t junked in weeks. This weekend, it got the best of my and the itch returned. Normally, I don’t traipse around the hood curbside shopping in the rain, but this is how strong the itch.
I found loads of good stuff, all of which was soaked. I’m not in the habit of letting that get in my way, but as it stands I don’t need everything I see and Hubbs was sweet enough to have my ride detailed this weekend. The thought of ruining my nice clean van was not one I would even entertain today. So I was good, and brought home only the essentials. Because every girl needs to bring home a little trash now and again to make her feel alive.
I scored a little nativity set which I am thinking I will repurpose. The structure needs a little love and could make a darling fairy house for the kids to decorate themselves.
It’s damp, so my basket find looks a lot worse than it actually is. I rarely pass up a good basket and this one is hinged and lidded. After it’s dry and cleaned up, it will be a great little storage piece for hardware or odds and ends that I have collected and need to keep organized.
It never matters what a thing starts its life out as. What’s fun and interesting is finding another use for it to prolong that life.
One man’s trash, is this chic’s treasure and today I am a rich girl.
That’s it for this week’s roundup.
